My name is Jerry Fizer and I met my loving bride (Shanon Wieland) in California just to find out that she lived in Colorado. After many months of long distance phone calls and trips to Colorado I moved. We were married in Niwot CO as our love story continued and then we moved a few more times and you guessed it, children blessed our lives. We added 2 to the 3 (all girls) I already had and boy did life get busy. Then along the way the kids some how grew up and moved away 1 by 1. My youngest daughter is a Freshman in College now and its back to getting to know my bride again as my girlfriend/wife instead of the mother of my children. Even though I'm sad to see the kids gone I'm excited to see what God has for my wife and I.

Now as for music, I have been singing and writing from the age of about 6 I guess. I have 3 brothers and 2 sisters and we all sang. We used to think that our family could have been the next Jackson 5. That dream was quickly lost as each of us moved away and started our own lives. I remember my sweet grandmother took me to a little church in Garisonville Virginia to hear this singing group (I think it might have been the imperials) and I was hooked. It seemed I couldn't get enough so when I discovered my dad had some gospel albums in his record player I just had to play them. It did cost me a spank or 2 for getting into his stuff but it was well worth it. I soon joined the Army, served in Korea, Washington state and southern California. When I got out of the service my dad reintroduced me to the Cathedrals and I have been hooked ever since. We have lost a lot of greats since then which is why I feel the need to help grow and keep gospel music alive. I share it every chance I get with the new generation of today and I get excited when I see them latch on to gospel music and when they sing it. I hope my presence here will encourage those who want to be in the gospel music business but don't forget to form your love story along the way.
